Areas
of Practice - Business & Corporate Law
The stages of growth
Companies grow through stages. Some of those
stages are predictable. Many are not. As companies mature and develop,
we are available with practical legal advice, including the analysis
of a new venture’s feasibility, the selection of the most
suitable entity formation, the preparation or review of partnership
agreements, incorporation documents, buyout agreements and leases.
Continuity of services
There are cycles in the business world. We
help plan for those cycles by providing seasoned counseling on a
continuing basis, including tax and financial advice, the development
of compensation plans, and the preparation of purchase and sale
agreements for asset and stock sales. For individuals and closely-held
companies, we often serve as outside advisors who are familiar with
business planning in general and their company in particular. Burke
& Casserly, P.C. can offer objective advice specific to a client’s
situation within a larger context.
Employee benefit plans
Employees bring varied skills as well as
challenges to companies. As part of our business and tax practice
we are involved in the design and implementation of employee benefit
plans, from the drafting, implementation, and administration of
those plans to handling compliance with IRS and ERISA regulations.
Employee benefit plans include qualified
retirement plans (pension, profit-sharing, and cafeteria plans)
and non-qualified executive compensation plans (including deferred
compensation and stock bonus plans). We are available to present
employee seminars to help explain the positive impact of the employee
benefit plans.
