Cheri Terzian

Firm Administrator

Cheri Terzian has been the law firm’s administrator since its inception in September, 1988 and worked in various clerical/administrative capacities with the partners since 1985 prior to the establishment of Burke & Casserly, P.C. She is responsible for all of the firm’s management including human resources, financial management, employee benefits, marketing, technology, facilities management, client service satisfaction as well as all other administrative operations.

Cheri has been a member of the Albany Chapter Association of Legal Administrators (ALA f/k/a Hudson Valley Chapter) since 1995 and has served in various capacities on the Board of Directors from 1996-2002. She was nominated to serve on the Board of the Albany Chapter ALA as President for the 2006-2007 period and again to serve as President for the 2010-2011 year. Cheri was responsible for, and chaired, the Chapter’s October 4, 2002 and November 19, 2004, Conference on Ethics, Marketing & Law Firm Management. The conference was organized in conjunction with the Albany Law School Union University for New York attorneys, and offered continuing education courses related to law firm management as well as included numerous vendor exhibits.

Cheri co-authored an article with Merilee Marsh, Marketing Consultant in the ALA’s Management Encyclopedia’s second release. The article entitled “The Marketing Cycle in Law Firms” provides a thorough examination of the process in developing a marketing plan and the considerations involved. In the Encyclopedia’s third release, Cheri authored an article entitled “The Administrator’s Role in Client Relationship Management.”

A part of her community involvement, Cheri was a former Board member of The Circles of Mercy, a Rensselaer based not-for-profit organization. Circles of Mercy is an advocacy program established to assist women and women with children go from welfare to work and provides training in various aspects that impact their lives such as parenting skills, computer training, self-enhancement workshops, and job-seeking skills. She was also very involved in North Colonie Pop Warner for six years, coaching her daughter’s cheerleading squad and serving on the Board of Directors. Cheri is also a supporter of the Alzheimer’s Association along with the rest of the Burke & Casserly team.
